Blend: 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre
A rich, full-bodied, full-throttle Châteauneuf du Pape, the Cuvee Patricia is intense and full of fruit flavours with a touch of liquorice. Alain Corcia, the Burgundy négociant, ironically does most of his best work with his southern Cotes du Rhone selections. He has built a very nice portfolio of excellent values at the low end and some serious Châteauneuf du Pape (all named after his family members). The Châteauneuf du Pape are all aged in small traditional Burgundy barrels with no new oak, but the blends vary considerably. The wines, named after Alain Corcia’s children, wife, and father, are all produced in lots of about 250 cases.
